In recent years Barcelona has been one of the favorite destinations for a family holiday in Europe, due to the many attractions that are suitable for parents and children alike.
The nearby Costa Brava area, with its many beaches, also attracts many families. This time we offer another option, no less successful - a vacation in the coastal strip south of Barcelona, known as Costa Dorada (Costa Dorada, the golden beach in Spanish). In addition to beautiful and sunny beaches and charming towns, the area abounds in amusement parks and water, making it ideal for a vacation with relatively large children, ages elementary and up.
Not to be missed: The emphasis on a family vacation in the area is on theme parks and water, but parents also deserve to enjoy. Costa Dorada has some charming towns and cities like the resort town of Sitges, where narrow alleys with whitewashed houses and a beautiful promenade, and the city of Tarragona where an old and beautiful, walled city, with archeological remains and beautiful promenades. It is worth taking advantage of some of the days to idle on the golden sandy beaches. Highly recommended beaches are Salo's Long Beach, Sitges Beach, La Pineda Beach and Cambrils Beach.

Adjacent to the amusement park is the Costa Caribbean Water Park, which has an outdoor wave pool, an indoor pool, slides, a tubing track and much more. By buying a combined ticket you can switch between the parks during the day, but to make the most of the experience properly it is better to buy a combined ticket for two days.
Another successful park is Aqua Leon Park, a combination of a huge water park with water slides, tubing, a wave pool and more, along with a safari where a variety of African animals. There are also special bird shows and a petting zoo.
